Never professing to be a self-made man, Pastor Curney emulates the fine example of being a hard worker, provider, husband and father, as he witnessed in his grandfather Jesse Curney, Sr. Pastor Curney is the founder and Senior Pastor of New Mercies Christian Church.

Gregory V. Baker Sr., D. Min.

Preacher/Teacher of God’s Word

Gregory V. Baker Sr., D. Min. was born in Lakeland Florida in 1978 to Elder Gwendolyn B. Baker and Deacon Gregory D. Baker and is the grandson of the late Bishop D.L. Bright (Previous Presiding President of the United American Freewill Baptist Conference, Inc.). From a small boy God has guided this 3rd generation preacher with careful direction that has aligned him in a very strategic pathway. He was chosen by God to preach the word in the womb, and answered the call on his life at the age of 19. He has ministered the gospel in various capacities throughout the Southeastern region of the country. He continues to walk in his assignment as Preacher/Teacher of the Biblical text.

Pastor Timothy Chaney

Experiencing New Glory Everyday

Pastor Chaney accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1987 when he joined Rehoboth Community Church under the leadership of Elder Joseph Minter. After the death of Elder Minter, Pastor Chaney moved his membership to Mt Patmos Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Raleigh Rucker. Pastor Chaney was licensed in 1996 and ordained in 1998 and appointed to the position of Special Assistant to the Pastor. He held this position until 2004 when he moved his membership to New Mercies Christian Church under the leadership of Pastor Jesse Curney III.

In April 2010, Pastor Chaney received a call from God to organize New Glory Christian Church. On September 9, 2011, New Glory and its 12 founding members held its first worship service. Over 300 individuals were present to witness this monumental celebration.

Pastor Larry Geer

Anointed Man of God

Pastor Larry Geer accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior in 1993 at the age of 21. He served at Welfare Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor S.B. Neely for two years where he began to grow into the knowledge of God. In 1995 he became a faithful member at Strait Christian Church under the leadership of Pastor Johnny Donald, Jr. where he served as Youth Director until 2000.

In early 2010 God impressed upon Pastor Larry Geer’s heart to start prepare for the start of a new ministry in the Anderson area; it is now the Abundant Living Christian Church. Pastor Larry Geer is an anointed teacher and has a gift for presenting the Word of God in a manner in which people are able to understand and apply it to their daily lives. Pastor Larry Geer loves people; his heart is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and to see believers not only saved but grow in their salvation. It is important for believers to grow from mercy to maturity and to ministry.
